It's been a busy couple of weeks! We've been tending to eggs in an incubator, learning May Day and other fun spring songs, dancing around a maypole,  reading about the wacky antics of Mercy Watson, the "porcine wonder", and creating special trinkets and cards in anticipation of Mother's Day.
Happy Friday!

The fierce March (and April) winds inspired us to focus on, and experiment with the force of air and gravity. We made flubber and watched air bubbles emerge when the flubber was stretched over a cup. We made spinning wheels, parachutes and kites. Blowing up and playing with balloons led to many interesting discoveries and discussions.

Baked Beans and Pinwheels

Yum!

We set our pinwheels out in the wind. Next week parachutes and kites. These brisk, breezy days are great for our experiments with the wind.

Pinata Celebration

Today we had a very special birthday celebration. One of our classmates brought in a pinata to share. The children were very excited. Everyone participated in the event, taking turns hitting the pinata. The children watching cheered for the slugger. The parents taught us a song to sing in Spanish as part of the tradition.
