Set and Costume Design, A Walk in the Woods and a visit from Gian.

This week we were busy preparing for our play, Who's in Rabbit's House?".  The children used sponge painting to make rabbit's house which is under tree roots. They  used paper mache to make animal ears and then painted the ears.

We had a lovely Walk in the Woods on Monday, collecting leaves for an art project.

We had a special visit from a parent who shared a bit of Italian culture with us in honor Of Italian Heritage month. He taught us a song in Italian and read a book titled, "I Due Liocorni", The Two Unicorns. Everyone enjoyed the songs and storytelling.

Leaf Printing

We have begun work creating the set for our play, "Who's in Rabbit's House".  To create a forest, the children printed leaves on a backdrop they had painted last week.

This week the butterfly hatched. We taught it how to drink by guiding the proboscis with a toothpick to sugar water on a paper towel. The butterfly was very friendly. The children were able to have the butterfly sit on their arms and tickle them.
